Ingredients

- 1 lb hamburger (or chili meat)
- 1 medium yellow onion
- 4 garlic cloves, peeled and finely chopped
- 2 1/2 tablespoons chili powder
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1/4-1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
- 1 (15 ounce) can pinto beans
- 1 (14 1/2 ounce) can crushed tomatoes
- 1 (14 1/2 ounce) can beef broth
Recipe
- 1 brown beef with onion and garlic in 5-quart dutch oven or large skillet over med high heat for 5 to 6 minutes.
- 2 add seasonings, and stir to combine, heat 1 minute.
- 3 stir in pinto beans, broth and tomatoes.
- 4 bring to boil, reduce heat and simmer for 15 minutes uncovered.
- 5 garnish with onion and cheddar cheese.
