30 Minute Chili

Total Time: 30 mins Preparation Time: 5 mins Cook Time: 25 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 1 lb hamburger (or chili meat)
  • 1 medium yellow onion
  • 4 garlic cloves, peeled and finely chopped
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1/4-1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
  • 1 (15 ounce) can pinto beans
  • 1 (14 1/2 ounce) can crushed tomatoes
  • 1 (14 1/2 ounce) can beef broth

Recipe

  • 1 brown beef with onion and garlic in 5-quart dutch oven or large skillet over med high heat for 5 to 6 minutes.
  • 2 add seasonings, and stir to combine, heat 1 minute.
  • 3 stir in pinto beans, broth and tomatoes.
  • 4 bring to boil, reduce heat and simmer for 15 minutes uncovered.
  • 5 garnish with onion and cheddar cheese.
