American Chop Suey

Cook Time: 1 hr 30 mins
Ingredients
- Servings: 5
- 1 lb hamburger, browned and drained
- 1 green pepper, chopped
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 1 cup celery, chopped
- 1 (4 1/2 ounce) jar mixed mushrooms (i like to double it)
- 1 pint canned whole tomatoes
- 3/4 cup raw rice
- seasoning salt (i prefer creole seasoning) or salt and pepper (i prefer creole seasoning)
Recipe
- 1 mix ingredients in skillet.
- 2 do not saute' or cook veggies first or you will get mush.
- 3 season with seasoning salt or salt and pepper to taste.
- 4 cover, and leave on highheat until food begins to steam and you see steam coming out from under the lid.
- 5 turn off heat and leave on burner for 1 hours.
- 6 do not lift cover during cooking period.
