Black Bean And Rice Burgers(guam)

Ingredients
- olive oil flavored cooking spray
- cornmeal, for dusting
- 1 (15 ounce) can black beans, drained
- 1/2 cup cooked brown rice
- 1/2 cup corn kernel
- 1/2 cup sunflower seeds, coarsely ground
- 1/4 cup cornmeal
- 1/4 cup wheat germ
- 1/2 cup celery, chopped
- 1 tablespoon oil (canola, flaxseed or olive)
- 1/2 cup salsa
- 1 tablespoon chili powder
- 1 tablespoon cilantro, chopped
Recipe
- 1 preheat oven to 375°f.
- 2 pan spray a 14" x 16" cookie sheet and dust with cornmeal.
- 3 in a large bowl combine all ingredients and mix thoroughly. let the mixture stand for 15 minutes.
- 4 divide and form into 8 patties using wax paper and place on baking sheet.
- 5 bake 30 to 35 minutes or until browned and firm.
- 6 serve as you would traditional ones with fat free condiments such as ketchup, mustard, lettuce, tomato, red onion, pickles, etc. on a whole wheat bun. healthy and delicious!
