Hamburger Soup

Ingredients
- Servings: 6
- 1/2-1 lb hamburger
- 2 stalks celery, chopped
- 2 potatoes, peeled and cubed
- 1 onion, medium,chopped
- 2 quarts water
- 1/2 cup barley or 1/2 cup rice
- 16 ounces canned tomatoes
- 1 (15 ounce) can tomato sauce
- 1 bag frozen vegetables, your choice
- salt
- pepper
- garlic powder
Recipe
- 1 partially brown the hamburger and drain.
- 2 toss in the celery and onion, and cook until translucent.
- 3 drain again.
- 4 pour in water.
- 5 if using barley, toss in and simmer 1 hour.
- 6 if using rice, simmer 1/2 hour and then toss in rice and simmer 1/2 hour more.
- 7 partially chop the tomatoes, and add the potatoes and vegetables.
- 8 simmer 45 minutes more.
- 9 add salt, pepper, and garlic powder to taste.
