Beef With Hot Sauce

Total Time: 4 hrs

Ingredients

  • Servings: 8
  • 3 lbs chuck roast
  • 1/2 cup onion, chopped
  • 1/2 cup celery, chopped
  • 1/2 cup green pepper, chopped
  • water
  • 1 1/2 cups catsup
  • 3 tablespoons hot taco sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons vinegar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 8 hamburger buns

Recipe

  • 1 place meat, onion, celery and green pepper in dutch oven; cover with water.
  • 2 cover tightly and cook slowly 2 1/2 to 3 hours or until tender.
  • 3 remove meat; cool, shred and return to cooking liquid.
  • 4 add catsup, taco sauce, brown sugar, vinegar, garlic, bay leaf, salt, mustard and chili powder.
  • 5 cook slowly 1 hour.
  • 6 remove bay leaf; serve on buns.
