Hamburger Special

Total Time: 2 hrs 20 mins Preparation Time: 20 mins Cook Time: 2 hrs

Ingredients

  • 1 (14 ounce) bottle catsup
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 1/2 cup vinegar, drained from sweet pickles or 1/4 cup plain vinegar
  • 1 1/2 medium onions, chopped fine
  • 1/4 cup prepared mustard
  • 1/4 cup worcestershire sauce
  • 3 lbs lean ground beef
  • 2 tablespoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper

Recipe

  • 1 combine catsup, water, vinegar, chopped onions, mustard and worcestershire sauce in large saucepan.
  • 2 place over low heat and cook slowly while preparing hamburgers.
  • 3 mix ground beef, salt and pepper and shape into 12 hamburgers.
  • 4 put hamburgers in the heated sauce and cook gently for 2 hours or more.
  • 5 serve burgers on buns.
