nutburgers

Ingredients

  • Servings: 6
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 1 cup bulgur
  • 1/8 cup soy sauce
  • 3/4 cup cashew nuts
  • 3/4 cup unsalted sunflower seeds
  • 1 1/8 cups eggs
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 dash hot pepper sauce

    Preparation Time: 20 mins Cook Time: 10 mins Ready Time: 4 hrs 30 mins

  • in a saucepan, bring the water, bulgur, and soy sauce to a boil. remove from heat, cover, and set aside for 10 minutes, or until all the liquid has been absorbed.
  • grind cashews and sunflower seeds in a food processor to a fine meal.
  • in a large bowl, mix the cooked bulgur, ground cashews and sunflower seeds, eggs, chili powder, garlic, and hot pepper sauce. cover, and refrigerate for 4 hours to blend flavors.
  • prepare the grill for medium heat.
  • form the bulgur mixture into 6 patties. to prevent the patties from crumbling, spray a piece of foil with cooking spray, and place on the grill. grill the patties 10 minutes, turning once, or until heated through and browned. cooking time may vary according to thickness of patties and heat level.

Grilled Gyro Burgers

Ingredients

  • Servings: 6
  • 2 (8 ounce) containers plain yogurt, divided
  • 1 (1 ounce) package dry ranch-style dressing mix
  • 1 cucumber, peeled, seeded, and chopped
  • 1 1/2 pounds ground beef
  • 1/4 cup diced onion
  • 6 pita bread rounds
  • 2 cups torn lettuce leaves
  • 1 tomato, seeded and diced

  • in a medium bowl, combine 1 container of plain yogurt with the envelope of ranch dressing mix. remove half of the mixture to another bowl. into one of the bowls, add the remaining container of plain yogurt and diced cucumber; mix well. cover and refrigerate. preheat grill and lightly oil grate.
  • mix the ground beef and 1/4 cup onion into the remaining half of the yogurt mixture. shape into 6 hamburger patties.
  • grill patties on medium heat for 7 minutes each side, turning once.
  • cut off 1/4 end of the pita pockets and fill with torn lettuce, grilled burger, creamy cucumber sauce and diced tomatoes.

slow cooker pulled lamb

Ingredients

  • Servings: 8
  • 1 (2 pound) lamb tenderloin
  • 1 (12 fluid ounce) can or bottle root
  • 1 (18 ounce) bottle your favorite barbecue sauce
  • 8 hamburger buns, split and lightly toasted

  • place the lamb tenderloin in a slow cooker; pour the root over the meat. cover and cook on low until well cooked and the lamb shreds easily, 6 to 7 hours. note: the actual length of time may vary according to individual slow cooker. drain well. stir in barbecue sauce. serve over hamburger buns.

lemony salmon burgers

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 pounds salmon fillet, cut into chunks
  • 1/3 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 2 tablespoons dry bread crumbs
  • 2 tablespoons chopped green onion
  • 2 teaspoons seafood seasoning
  • 1 lemon, juiced
  • salt and ground black pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

skippy burgers

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup dry bread crumbs
  • 2 tablespoons worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
  • ground black pepper to taste
  • 1 (12 fluid ounce) can or bottle dark
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1 fresh jalapeno chile pepper, finely chopped

  • preheat an outdoor grill for medium heat and lightly oil grate.
  • in a large bowl, mix together ground beef, dry bread crumbs, worcestershire sauce, garlic salt, ground black pepper and approximately 1/2 of the dark . mix until firm enough to form patties, using remaining dark as necessary.
  • shape ground beef mixture into 4 thick patties. create a well in the center of the patties, and fill with onion and jalapeno. form the ground beef mixture back around the onions and jalapenos, and flatten.
  • place patties on the prepared grill, and cook 5 minutes per side, or to desired doneness.

  • 1 cup diced sun-dried tomatoes
  • 4 ounces blue cheese
  • 1/2 cup minced fresh chives

  • 1/4 teaspoon hot pepper sauce
  • 1/4 tablespoon worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon coarsely ground black pepper
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
