Burl Ives Burger

Ingredients

  • Servings: 12
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce
  • 4 -6 dashes tabasco sauce
  • 1 garlic clove, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup beer
  • 3 lbs ground beef
  • 6 frankfurters
  • 12 hamburger buns
  • 24 dill pickle slices

Recipe

  • 1 to make sauce: mix together first seven ingredients.
  • 2 let stand at room temperature for one hour or longer.
  • 3 shape meat into twelve patties; cut frankfurters in half, lengthwise; broil, fry or grill, basting frequently with sauce.
  • 4 split buns and heat in oven.
  • 5 dip cut sides of buns into sauce, add meat patty to each bottom bun, cover with frankfurter, dill pickle and top bun.
