Cheeseburger Chowder (crock Pot)

Total Time: 7 hrs 15 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 7 hrs

Ingredients

  • Servings: 12
  • 7 -8 cups diced potatoes
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 carrots, diced
  • 2 celery, diced
  • 2 cups water
  • 3 cups chicken broth
  • 2 lbs hamburger, browned and drained
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 (12 ounce) can evaporated milk
  • 1 lb velveeta cheese, diced
  • 1/4 cup sour cream

Recipe

  • 1 brown hamburger and onion, drain.
  • 2 place meat, onions, carrots, celery, basil, broth and water into crock pot. cook on low 4-5 hours or until potatoes are tender.
  • 3 add the milk, cheese and sour cream and cook another 2 hours.

  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 2 (8 ounce) cans ready-to-bake refrigerated buttermilk flaky biscuits
  • 16 ounces velveeta cheese (diced)
  • 1 (12 ounce) can italian-style diced tomatoes
  • 1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
  • 1 medium onion (chopped)
  • 1 small bell pepper (copped)
  • 2 tablespoons garlic (minced or crushed)
  • 1 teaspoon italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon seasoning salt

  • 1 in a large skillet or boiler pan brown the ground beef then drain.
  • 2 after the ground beef is browned and drained, add the the tomatoes, tomato sauce, onion, bell pepper, garlic, seasonings and sugar. cover and simmer on med-low heat for 45minutes to an hour stirring occasionally.
  • 3 during the last 15 minutes of your sauce simmering, preheat oven to 400 degrees. line your baking dish 9"x14"x3" (bottom and sides) with the canned biscuits starting with the bottom first then the sides and all touching. press the biscuits all together to form a crust up to the top edge of your dish.
  • 4 using a soup ladle or coffee cup evenly pour the sauce mixture into the center of the lined biscuits in your baking dish leaving a space of approximately one inch from the top edge of the biscuits. (biscuits will rise during the baking period) top sauce mixture with cubed cheese evenly. place dish on cookie sheet and bake for 25-35 minutes or until the edges of crust and cheese is lightly brown.

  • 1/2 lb ground beef
  • 3/4 cup chopped onion
  • 4 tablespoons butter, divided
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup diced carrot
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  • 3 cups chicken broth
  • 4 cups diced peeled potatoes
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1 1/2 cups evaporated milk
  • 2 cups cubed process american cheese
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • chopped dill pickle
  • chopped tomato

Recipe

  • 1 in a saute pan brown the ground beef.
  • 2 drain and set aside.
  • 3 in same saute pan saute onion in 1 tablespoon butter until tender.
  • 4 add garlic, carrots, basil and parsley.
  • 5 saute about 3 minutes.
  • 6 add broth and beef and potatoes.
  • 7 bring to a boil.
  • 8 reduce heat and cover, simmer for 15 to 20 minutes or until carrots and potatoes are tender.
  • 9 meanwhile melt remaining butter in a small skillet.
  • 10 add flour and cook, stirring for 3 to 5 minutes.
  • 11 gradually add evaporated milk, stirring constantly, cooking and stirring for 6 to 8 minutes.
  • 12 gradually stir the sauce into the soup.
  • 13 bring to a boil and cook for 2 minutes.
  • 14 reduce heat to low.
  • 15 add cheese, salt and pepper.
  • 16 continue to stir until cheese melts.
  • 17 remove from heat and blend in sour cream.
  • 18 garnish each serving with chopped fresh tomatoes and dill pickle slices.

Cheeseburger Pasta

Ground Peppercorn Burger

  • 1 1/2 lbs ground sirloin
  • 40 black peppercorns, crushed*
  • 5 tablespoons dijon mustard (maille or grey poupon)
  • 1 tablespoon cajun seasoning
  • 1/2 cup extra chunky bleu cheese salad dressing
  • 1 cup fried onions, strips
  • salt and pepper

Recipe

  • 1 mix salt and pepper with the ground meat and make 4 patties.
  • 2 mix mustard and cajun seasoning(cayenne pepper too if you want, or chipotle powder, or both hehe).
  • 3 brush the mustard mixture on the patties to cover thickly and completely. you don't need to use all the mustard, just make sure they are coated.
  • 4 roll them in the cracked peppers until fully coated.
  • 5 grill the burgers to desired doneness.
  • 6 serve on a grilled bun with lots of blue cheese dressing and onion strips on the bottom half underneath the burger.
  • 7 on top goes more blue cheese dressing, lettuce, tomatoes and pickles. mmmm, enjoy.
  • 8 *you can crush them under a heavy skillet. don't use ground pepper in this recipe.

  • 1 lb bread, slices
  • nonstick cooking spray
  • 2 teaspoons garlic salt (can add more, if you like)
  • 1 teaspoon basil leaves
  • 1 teaspoon italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder or 1 teaspoon onion salt

Recipe

  • 1 note: you can use any kind of bread (fresh or stale) to make croutons: hamburger or hot dog buns, italian or french, multi-grain, sourdough or dinner rolls.
  • 2 a great way to use up stale bread.
  • 3 just be sure it doesn't have any mold on it.
  • 4 preheat oven to 275 degrees.
  • 5 spray two large baking sheets (with sides) with non-stick cooking spray.
  • 6 using serrated knife, cut bread into small or medium cubes.
  • 7 you can stack several slices and cut them all at one time.

  • 1 lb extra lean ground beef
  • 1/2 teaspoon oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon basil
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 (10 ounce) can tomato soup
  • 1 teaspoon worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 cup onion, chopped
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 8 ounces sliced mushrooms (optional)
  • 2 cups grated mozzarella cheese
  • 1 loaf french bread

Recipe

  • 1 split the loaf of bread lengthwise and toast lightly.
  • 2 brown the hamburger, drain off fat.
  • 3 add the garlic and onion and saute slightly.
  • 4 reserve 2 tbsp of the soup and add the rest, with the oregano, basil, chili powder and worcestershire sauce, to the hamburger mixture.

  • 14 1/2 ounces ground beef (reserve fat)
  • 3 1/2 ounces diced fresh yellow onions
  • 2 3/4 quarts water
  • 2 ounces cream soup
  • 2 1/4 ounces beef base
  • 7 1/4 ounces diced fresh tomatoes

  • 8 ounces shredded mild cheddar cheese

  • 1 in a large soup kettle, saute ground beef and onion for 10 to 15 minutes or until beef is thoroughly browned, no pink and minimum internal temperature is 155 degrees f. (for 15 seconds).

  • 1 place in a food processor the meat with a metal blade, taking care to process in small (no more than 1/2-pound depending on the size of your processor) batches.
  • 2 pulse in short 1- to 2-held second bursts until the desired consistency is achieved, about 10 pulses. (count one one thousand two one thousand).
  • 3 pulsing is key do not let it run.
  • 4 pulsing distributes the pieces for more even chopping and avoids excess heat from friction that could turn your ground beef into mass of mush.
  • 5 add any seasoning (like garlic, herbs, onions) for a recipe, right in before beginning to process.
  • 6 for burgers, a coarse grind is the way to go.
  • 7 for meatloaf and meatballs, a finer grind helps the meat compact, blend with other ingredients, and hold its shape.

Recipe

  • 1 make a two-crust pie and put in a pie plate.
  • 2 in a skillet saute the onion and cook till partially tender.
  • 3 add the hamburg and cook till it is done; drain off fat.
  • 4 add the tomato sauce, parsley, oregano, mushrooms, salt, and pepper.
  • 5 separate one of the eggs and set the yolk aside; beat the remaining eggs and pour half of this over the bottom pie shell.
  • 6 spoon the meat mixture into the shell.

  • 8 spread with remaining egg mixture.
  • 9 put on the top crust and make slits.
  • 10 loosely cover the edges with strips of foil to prevent edges from getting too brown.
