Chimichurri Burgers

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 2 tablespoons chimichurri seasoning mix (store-bought or dry chimichurri master mix/rub)
  • 2 tablespoons hot tap water
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon freshly grated lemon zest
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 2 tablespoons minced green onions
  • 1 1/2 lbs 85% lean ground beef
  • 1 cup shredded manchego cheese
  • 4 hamburger buns, toasted
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 4 slices red onions
  • 4 pieces leaves lettuce

Recipe

  • 1 in small bowl, combine 2 tablespoon chimichurri seasoning mix and hot water. let stand 15 minutes to rehydrate.
  • 2 stir in olive oil, lemon zest, garlic and green onion.
  • 3 in mixing bowl, gently mix ground beef, chimichurri mixture and cheese. form into four burgers. arrange on hot grill and grill until internal temperature reaches 160 degrees f (6-8 minutes), turning once.
  • 4 spread mayonnaise on toasted buns. arrange a burger on each bun bottom. top with onion slices and leaf lettuce.
