Bacon And Cheese-stuffed Burgers

Ingredients

- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 lb sliced fresh mushrooms
- 1 1/2 lbs ground sirloin
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 4 slices bacon, cooked and finely chopped
- 4 slices cheddar cheese
- 4 hamburger buns, split and toasted
- lettuce
- tomato, slices
- onion, slices
- ketchup
- mayonnaise
Recipe
- 1 preheat broiler or greased barbecue grill to medium.
- 2 in a large nonstick skillet, heat oil over medium heat.
- 3 saute mushrooms for 4 minutes or until tender; set aside.
- 4 in a large bowl, combine beef, garlic powder, pepper and salt.
- 5 shape beef into 8 equal patties, about ¾ inch thick.
- 6 top each of 4 patties with bacon and cheddar cheese.
- 7 top with remaining 4 patties, pinching to seal.
- 8 place patties on a grill rack or broiler pan coated with cooking spray.
- 9 grill for 8-10 minutes per side or until an instant read thermometer registers 160 degrees.
- 10 place burgers on buns.
- 11 top with mushrooms and desired toppings and remaining bun.
