Bacon And Cheese-stuffed Burgers

Total Time: 50 mins Preparation Time: 30 mins Cook Time: 20 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 lb sliced fresh mushrooms
  • 1 1/2 lbs ground sirloin
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 4 slices bacon, cooked and finely chopped
  • 4 slices cheddar cheese
  • 4 hamburger buns, split and toasted
  • lettuce
  • tomato, slices
  • onion, slices
  • ketchup
  • mayonnaise

Recipe

  • 1 preheat broiler or greased barbecue grill to medium.
  • 2 in a large nonstick skillet, heat oil over medium heat.
  • 3 saute mushrooms for 4 minutes or until tender; set aside.
  • 4 in a large bowl, combine beef, garlic powder, pepper and salt.
  • 5 shape beef into 8 equal patties, about ¾ inch thick.
  • 6 top each of 4 patties with bacon and cheddar cheese.
  • 7 top with remaining 4 patties, pinching to seal.
  • 8 place patties on a grill rack or broiler pan coated with cooking spray.
  • 9 grill for 8-10 minutes per side or until an instant read thermometer registers 160 degrees.
  • 10 place burgers on buns.
  • 11 top with mushrooms and desired toppings and remaining bun.
