Hamburg Chowder (hamburger Chowder)

Ingredients
- Servings: 12
- 1 lb extra lean ground beef, browned in
- 1 tablespoon butter, then drained
- 5 medium potatoes, peeled and cubed (i don't peel them)
- 5 medium onions, sliced thin (saute style)
- 1 quart diced tomato
- 1 pinch baking soda
- 1 teaspoon brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon thyme
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon celery seed
- 1 quart water, heated to a boil
Recipe
- 1 combine all of the ingredients in a dutch oven.
- 2 simmer for 3 to 4 hours.
- 3 if the soup is too thick, add up to a quart of boiling water.
