Barbecued Lamb Sandwiches

Total Time: 2 hrs 20 mins Preparation Time: 20 mins Cook Time: 2 hrs

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 1 1/2 lbs boneless lamb roast
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon fresh ground pepper
  • 1 (18 ounce) jar barbecue sauce, your choice
  • 4 hamburger buns

Recipe

  • 1 heat oven to 325°f.
  • 2 sprinkle lamb with salt and pepper.
  • 3 heat a dutch oven for 1 minute over medium-high heat.
  • 4 brown lamb on all sides, about 4 minutes per side.
  • 5 add barbecue sauce to dutch oven; cover and bake 1 ½ hours until lamb is fork-tender.
  • 6 transfer lamb to cutting board.
  • 7 slice into thin pieces.
  • 8 return to dutch oven and cook for 5 minutes over medium heat.
  • 9 place rolls on serving plate.
  • 10 divide lamb mixture and spoon into each roll.
