Grilled Portabella Mushroom Burger

Total Time: 25 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 10 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 4 -6 portabella mushroom caps
  • 4 garlic cloves, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons italian seasoning (not dried italian dressing)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 -6 slices smoked gouda cheese
  • sliced tomato (optional)
  • lettuce (optional)
  • roasted garlic mayonnaise (optional)
  • hamburger bun

Recipe

  • 1 place portabella mushroom caps, chopped garlic, italian seasoning and olive oil into a large sealable plastic bag.
  • 2 shake to mix all ingredients and place in fridge for 30 minutes.
  • 3 once 30 minutes has passed, grill mushroom caps on medium heat on either grill pan or skillet. *start with gills down. caps will only need to be grilled 2-3 minutes on each side, any more time and the caps will become mushy.
  • 4 grill burger buns slightly and add mushroom cap. add cheese, veggies, condiments and enjoy!
