Healthy, Tasty, Sloppy Joes

Total Time: 45 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 30 mins

Ingredients

  • 1 kg lean ground beef
  • 1 large onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 3 large tomatoes, chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/2 teaspoon mustard powder
  • 2 teaspoons sugar or 2 teaspoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 5 -6 hamburger buns

Recipe

  • 1 gently saute the onions until they are soft - you don't want to brown them, they need to be translucent and sweet.
  • 2 add the tomatoes, oregano, basil, mustard, tomato paste, sugar.
