Bayou Turkey Burger

Total Time: 25 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 15 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • 2 scallions, thinly sliced
  • 1 red bell pepper, stemmed, seeded, and finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon garlic, finely minced
  • 2 tablespoons cilantro, fresh and chopped
  • 1/4 teaspoon thyme, dried
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • crushed red pepper flakes, to taste
  • salt
  • pepper
  • 4 hamburger buns, toasted

Recipe

  • 1 prepare a barbecue grill or preheat the broiler.
  • 2 place the turkey in a bowl and mix it well with the scallions, bell pepper, garlic, cilantro, thyme, cumin, paprika, and red pepper flakes.
  • 3 season to taste with salt and pepper.
  • 4 gently form the mixture into 4 patties.
  • 5 grill or broil the burgers until cooked through - 5 -6 minutes per side.
  • 6 serve immediately on the toasted buns.
