Grilled Chile Pepper Cheeseburgers

Total Time: 25 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 15 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 6
  • 1/3 cup green onion, finely chopped
  • 3 tablespoons nonfat plain yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons jalapeno peppers, seeded, finely chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 lbs ground beef
  • 6 ounces monterey jack pepper cheese, cut into 6-8 slices
  • 8 kaiser rolls, split and toasted

Recipe

  • 1 in a medium bowl, combine green onion, yogurt, jalapenos, pepper and salt. add beef and mix well.
  • 2 shape beef mixture into 8 patties about 3/4 inch thick. place wax paper between the patties and freeze in a 1-gallon freezer bag.
  • 3 to prepare, thaw patties in the refrigerator. grill until no pink remains in the center. turn once. top each patty with cheese the last 2 minutes of grilling time.
